About
Sonni is an Argentinian artist based in New York City whose practice bridges graphic design, street art, and large-scale murals. With roots in animation, he creates playful yet thought-provoking characters using bold primary colors, geometric forms, and a range of mediums, including charcoal, colored pencils, latex paint, and digital tools such as Adobe Illustrator.
Blending the absurd with the surreal, Sonni often employs visual puns to explore the human experience, inviting viewers to connect with his work on both humorous and emotional levels. His art emphasizes intentional, accessible creation, aiming to resonate with as wide an audience as possible.
Educated in graphic design and animation in Buenos Aires, Sonni began his career working in animation studios before relocating to the United States. His professional practice has included collaborations with brands and institutions such as Nike, Converse, MTV, and The New Yorker, as well as public art commissions that bring his vibrant characters into city spaces.
Sonni’s murals and public works can be seen in New York City, Miami’s Wynwood Walls, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Seoul, and Buenos Aires, with projects ranging from large-scale building facades to community-based installations.
He has exhibited internationally, with solo and group shows in New York, San Francisco, Miami, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Seoul, and his work continues to attract collectors, cultural institutions, and audiences worldwide.
