Past Exhibitions

On view: October 28th to November 6th

Opening Reception: Friday, October 28th, 6-8PM

(NEW YORK, NY) From October 28th to November 6th, Van Der Plas presents an All Art+ Group Exhibition titled: “Found Voice.” Psychologist Carl Jung believed in the confrontation of one’s Self and its necessity for one to experience personal growth and marry the unconscious to the conscious to control one’s fate. One must balance the nonsense with sense and appreciate the spirit of madness in order to think and speak beyond the rules of society. “Found Voice” is a group show seeking to explore individuality and the relationship between one’s own darkness and their lightness, creating a platform for artists to, in the words of Jung, face their own souls. We invite artists to share their own stories, origins, and worldviews in their work and explore ideas deeply personal to them.

On View: September 30th - October 23rd

Van Der Plas presents Queens based artist, LeCrue Eyebrows’ first solo show: “LeCrue: Primal Form.” His playful two-dimensional stories have become an unmistakable feature of NYC’s streets, and owner/gallerist Adriaan Van der Plas is excited to introduce LeCrue to the gallery and our collector base.

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 17th, 6-8PM

(NEW YORK, NY) From September 17th to September 25th, Van Der Plas presents an All Art+ Group Exhibition titled: “Penetrating the Surface.” Writer Saul Bellow saw art as a source of truth beneath clouds of confusion and insincerity. Where distractions provide us with a misleading illusion of comfort, they prevent us from truly confronting the truths lying beneath. “Penetrating the Surface'' is a group show seeking to explore this relationship between attention and distraction, creating a platform for artists to express the unfettered authenticity hidden beneath layers of superficiality. We encourage artists to share their own stories, origins, and worldviews in their work and explore ideas deeply personal to them.
